Just finished Jim Baker’s ‘The Eagle in the Lion City’…chronicling the history between the US and Singapore….interesting…the early stuff more than the current stuff….the right wing like Singapore because it has “tough” laws….but Singaporeans don’t seem to have any opinion regarding the US these days…Americans tend to “tolerate” life here…it’s not easy to assimilate…American expats are pampered corporate families…seem to have no clue as to what it means to be “American” overseas….Baker’s book does a good job describing the various episodes that make up the US-Singapore story…but it’s just not that inte
